On Lindsay’s original session date the weather was absolutely terrible! We rarely get the kind of rain that just doesn’t stop in Colorado but that is exactly what the weather was like that evening. It is never fun to cancel a session last minute but this time I was so glad we did. We rescheduled for the very next day. When I arrived on location I was so excited to see the most beautiful sunset. This summer it has rained more than any of the other 7 summers I’ve spent in Colorado Springs. Its made for lots of weather reschedules. Weather reschedules are one of the most challenging parts of being a Colorado Springs family photographer in the summer months. I’ve had the best clients this summer that have been so understanding and appreciative of the weather reschedules.
Lindsay booked a petite session, which in my opinion is perfect for families with young children. Unless your child is shy and will take a while to warm up, I always recommend the 30 minute session. During a petite session we work quickly, which is the perfect pace for a toddler! I work hard to deliver a complete gallery in just 30 minutes. I can’t guarantee we will be able to capture every combination of family members. If that is important to you then definitely book the classic 60 minute session. To keep young children engaged I find it is important to move fast. If something isn’t working we quickly move on and try something else. Lindsay has three girls ages 4 and under. In just 30 minutes we created a large gallery of images that captures them as they are in this busy and fulfilling season of life.
This locations is one of my absolute favorites. It is not the most popular location with my clients but I absolutely love it. Because it is a little farther from the mountains it has the most beautiful sunset in all of Colorado Springs.

Once you book your session, you’ll start to receive lots of emails from me so we can get started planning your session. So much work goes into planning a photo session but I’m here to help you every step of the way! We’ll start by first choosing a location and then we’ll work on styling your session. As my client you’ll have access to an online styling tool called style and select, as well as access to my client closet. My client closet is a collection of clothing that you can borrow for your session at no additional cost.
