As a photographer, there are few things more breathtaking than Colorado in August. The stunning mountain views, warm weather, and lush landscapes make it the perfect backdrop for a family photography session. Last summer, I had the privilege of capturing this Colorado Springs mountain photo session, and I am excited to share some of the images we captured.
A Sunset Mountain Session
We chose a location near the mountains, where we could capture the gorgeous scenery while also having enough open space for the kids to run around. The family arrived dressed in coordinating outfits in shades of blues and greens with a pop of white. I love the way these colors compliment the mountain scenery.
As the sun began to set, we took advantage of the golden hour light to capture these beautiful family photos with the mountains in the background. The warm, golden light was stunning. We captured some beautiful photos of this family set against the beautiful Colorado scenery.
Highlights From the Session
This adorable baby boy really stole the show in these family photos. Nine months is a really great age to to schedule family photos with your baby. If you wait till a year, sometimes they just want to get down and run around and that makes the photo session a bit more challenging.
Some of my favorite images from this session were taken along a dirt road with the mountains looming in the background. I love how lush the greenery is this time of year. The sun was setting behind the family and casting a beautiful warm glow.
Another highlight from this session were these sweet candid photos of the boys and their mom. Motherhood images are always some of my favorite! I love their sweet smiles full of joy.
This Colorado Springs mountain photo session was a huge success. Not only did we capture some stunning images, but we also had a great time together. I love being able to capture moments like these. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with family so many times over the last few years. These images will be treasured for years to come. I can’t wait to see this family again this year for their annual photo session.
