Breckenridge Family Photographer (Now Offering Sessions in Breckenridge, Colorado)

I’m so excited to share that I’ll now be offering Breckenridge photo sessions this summer. Breckenridge is such an incredible place for family photos, and I’ve been wanting to expand here for a while. Between the mountain views, the light, and the overall feel of the area, it’s truly one of the most beautiful places in Colorado to document your family. I’m so excited for this next step as a Breckenridge Family Photographer.

Why I Chose to Offer Breckenridge Family Photos

Breckenridge has so much to offer especially when it comes to family photos. The combination of tall pine trees, high alpine mountain views, and soft golden light creates a setting that’s hard to match.

It’s also an easy trip from Colorado Springs—about a two-hour drive—which makes it a great option for both my local families and those visiting the area.

As a Breckenridge Family Photographer, I love being able to offer something a little more adventurous while still keeping the experience simple and fun for families.

What Makes Breckenridge So Special for Family Photos

The mountain views in Breckenridge are truly next level. You get wide-open landscapes, layered peaks, and that alpine feel that makes photos stand out.

In addition, the light here feels a little softer and more diffused with the tall pine trees. That combination creates images that feel both natural and elevated at the same time.

Best Locations for Breckenridge Family Photos

I’m currently continuing to explore and scout locations in the Breckenridge area, but I already have a few favorites.

Hoosier Pass and Boreas Pass both offer incredible mountain views. Hoosier pass is an easy to access scenic spots. Dillon Reservoir is another beautiful option, especially for families who want water views along with the mountains.

There are also several quiet spots just outside of town that also offer beautiful views. I’ll always help guide you to the best location based on your family and the type of session you’re looking for.

Best Time of Year for Breckenridge Family Photos

Summer is the best time of year for family photos in Breckenridge.

The weather is warm during the day, but it cools off in the evenings, especially at higher elevations. One of the biggest highlights of summer is the wildflowers. They add so much color and texture to your photos.

Late summer into early fall is also beautiful if you’re hoping for those warm autumn tones.

What to Expect During a Mountain Session

These locations are a bit more adventurous than my Colorado Springs sessions. Many of them require driving on mountain roads and hiking a short distance to reach the best views.

Even in the summer, temperatures can drop quickly in the evening. Because of that, it’s important to come prepared with layers and comfortable shoes.

That said, the extra effort is always worth it. The scenery in Breckenridge creates such a unique setting and makes your photos feel even more special.

What to Wear for Mountain Family Photos

Layers are key for mountain sessions.

Temperatures can change quickly, so it’s best to be prepared. For kids, I often recommend tights, sweaters, or layers that can easily be added or removed.

For the overall look, soft neutrals and earthy tones work really well with the mountain landscape. These colors help your family stand out without competing with the scenery. Don’t worry, I’ll help with outfit planning for your mountain photo session.

Tips for Planning Your Photo Session

When planning your session, keep flexibility in mind. Mountain weather can shift quickly, and timing can change slightly depending on conditions.

It’s also helpful to plan ahead for travel time, especially if your location is outside of town. Giving yourself extra time helps everything feel more relaxed.

Most importantly, come ready to enjoy the experience. These sessions are meant to feel fun, easy, and a little adventurous.
