Spring sessions are right around the corner! Today I am sharing 3 spring style ideas for family photos. Here in Colorado the grasses are still brown in spring, which means wardrobe colors are even more important to the overall look of your photos.
When styling a family I like to put together a color palette. This helps me visually see how the wardrobe colors will work together. First I pick two main colors, these are often complementary colors. Complementary colors are colors opposite from each other on the color wheel. After this I add in neutral colors, keeping in mind to include a variety of shades from light to dark shade.
You can see examples of this in the spring style ideas I have shared below.
Blue and Mustard
Mustard and navy is such a classic color combination, perfect for family photos. These two complementary colors, look great against the stunning Colorado landscape. This color combo would work at any location here in Colorado Springs, CO.
Pink and Brown
Spring is the perfect time of year to wear pink. It pairs so nicely with shades of brown and cream. I love the romantic feeling it adds to a session. I recommend choosing muted shades of mauve pink.
Teal and Rust
Teal and rust is one of my favorite color combinations. This stunning maxi length dress is the focal point of this spring look. Spring is a great time of year to wear a rich shade of teal, since it will pop against the brown grass and would look wonderful against the red rock backdrop of the Garden of the Gods, as well.
I also wanted to include a few of my favorite to stores to shop at incase you a planning outfits for your spring photo session. For kiddos my favorites are Zara and H&M. Baltic born is my favorite for women and two of these dresses are from there.
I hope you enjoyed these spring style ideas! If you’d like to book a spring session, just send me a message via my contact form.
