When Kaitlyn reached out to me about photographing their pregnancy announcement in Colorado Springs I was so excited! This is this first pregnancy announcement photo shoot I’ve done and you guys I am obsessed. It was so much fun. I loved capturing their joy and excitement. We incorporated their ultrasound photos as a fun way to share the news with their friends and family. I don’t typically use any props during my photo sessions, but I loved how special it made this session.
After photographing this session, I am the biggest fan of pregnancy announcement photo sessions. I just love that Kaitlyn and Cole with not only have these beautiful images to look back on but will also have this wonderful memory. You all know how much I love maternity photos, but this session felt so much more about the couple and their love! It was special in its own unique way.
The styling of this session was absolutely perfect! When Kaitlyn sent me a photo of her dress I was so excited because I knew it would photograph beautifully. Mustard yellow is one of my favorite colors to photographer here in Colorado. I love the way it complements landscape, both the red rocks and mountains. This dress has a small subtle pattern which is perfect especially for a couples session. I always recommend incorporating at least one pattern because it adds a little bit of texture and visual interest to your photos.
