Winter family sessions in Colorado Springs are truly special. While the chilly weather might make you hesitate, the beauty of snowy landscapes, cozy layers, and stunning mountain views makes it all worthwhile. This recent session in an beautiful meadow near Colorado Springs shows off just how magical winter sessions can be.

This session was about more than just the beautiful scenery—it was a reminder that not every sessions goes as expected. In the end, we captured the sweetest memories of this wonderful family of three, with their one-year-old absolutely stealing the show.
When the First Session Doesn’t Go as Planned
Originally, we had planned this session as a fall mini session. However, as any parent can attest, babies don’t always follow the schedule. Despite our best efforts, the family’s one-year-old wasn’t in the mood for photos that day.
As a photographer with years of experience working with families with little ones, I totally understand that moments like these happen. Children, especially babies, have their own rhythms, and sometimes they just aren’t up for it. Rather than push through a stressful session, we made the decision to reschedule. My goal is always to create a relaxed and enjoyable experience—one where everyone feels comfortable and happy. If that means trying again another day, it’s absolutely worth it. If this happens during your session, you absolutely do not need to apologize for it. It is just part of the process of photographing babies and young children. I truly want you to have to best experience at your session and to create an amazing gallery of photos for you!
The Rescheduled Session

When we met for the rescheduled session, everything fell into place. This time, their one-year-old was all smiles and giggles, bundled up in the most adorable little coat. The love and connection within this family were so evident, and it was an absolute joy to capture.

From playful moments to sweet family snuggles, every frame told a story of love, warmth, and togetherness. The stunning mountain backdrop helped create the most beautiful family photos for this sweet family of three.
